I’m beginning to look into WordPress theme development as well. My first project will be a splash page template such as the one seen above. Features include a custom background image, splash screen spot, as well as a features page.

A recent article on Smashing Magazine titled “My Hard Drive Crashed…” (And What I Learned From It) got me thinking about new strategies for backup in 2013. Typically when we think backup, we think hard drive. This shouldn’t be the case. This is because as websites become more cloud driven, I believe backup should be as well.

I recently installed and tried out a new program called Blackblaze. It’s essentially an online backup site that has software to accompany it. The software is only used to upload all of your files to their servers. They backup your files and not only provide a convenint zip file download should anythng go arwy, but also will send you a flash drive of your data.

Additional website like Blackblaze exist and have different payment plans such as CrashPlan. For most, data is invaluable, therefore these pricing plans are reasonable. In another post I will update on my expeirnece with cloud based backup versus the traditional hard drive with Time Machine.

Yup, the logo too. I decided I needed my logo to really mean something to me. After a lot of failed sketches  endless hours on Fireworks, and many cups of coffee I give you: my initials. Yeah, it was staring me in the face the whole time. What better way to say me than with the two letter that define me top to bottom. I’ve managed to sneak it into my website in different places, see if you can find them all!
